Spain's Pedro Horrillo Munoz, who fell down a ravine during the Giro d'Italia on Saturday, is out of an induced coma and has moved his limbs.
The Rabobank rider crashed into a barrier during the eighth stage and fell some 60 metres.
He had to be winched into a helicopter, which took him to a Bergamo hospital.
His condition remains serious, with broken bones and head trauma, but doctors hope he can make a full recovery.

Rabobank has a thing with falling off cliffs I think. Remember Bruyneel did similar back in the 1990's. Strqight off a corner on the descent of the Cormet D' Rosealund. Glad to see Horillo is doing better.
He will take a long time to recover but he is a fit lad.
Thanks, Eurosport, for the updates. Please keep providing the official bulletins on Pedro's recovery from that heart-stopping accident.
best of luck pedro, i hope he makes a speedy recovery and gets back on his bike!!!
All the best Pedro.
Good luck to him and his family. No one deserves this level of injury from sport
I like I am sure every cyclist and cycling fan wish Pedro a speedy recovery and return to racing.
Once again any excuse to include Armstrong in a report,
All love and good wishes to Horillo for a safe recovery, but please, why do you have to have to quote Armstrong's opinion in this, and every other, news item... especially this one!?
A Freudian slip! I meant a few MORE riders not using stimulants...Although I am not going to bet the tests achieve any such thing given the lead the dopers no doubt have over the testers.
A sad day but hold the Giro bashing a minute.... Descents are as dangerous as the riders decide to behave on them: Italy is covered in mountains and the riders there know the risks, including wet roads and tunnels. As this wasn't a rider from Astana I cannot see how them not being paid enters the equation and at least with the tests a few less riders are riding without stimulants to affect their judgement!
Lets hope Pedro will be nagging the TV for a copy of the crash like most post-crash riders & riding again very soon.
They treat these riders like animals. Testing them all the time, some teams not paying them, making them race to fast finishes that are tight, even in bad weather.
Hope he will be alright. Thoughts of every cyclist is with Horrillo and his family.
That's very scary stuff. I really hope he can make a good recovery from it.
When something like that happens, do they withhold the information from the riders until the stage is over?
Fingers crossed Pedro Horrillo recovers well.
