Chief executive David Gill insists he has had no need to speak to Cristiano Ronaldo about his future at Manchester United and has reiterated the winger is not for sale.
Ronaldo's future is consistently coming under the spotlight with Real Madrid linked to a move for the Portuguese but Gill insists he has not spoken to the world player of the year as he is, and will remain, a Red Devils player.
Gill told the BBC: "We've never had that discussion. There's absolutely no point in having that discussion. We made it clear last year he's on a long-term contract with us and it's never come up."
He added: "He's been fantastic both on and off the pitch throughout, he's supported us in what we want to do commercially and he's been a model professional.
"He is not for sale. He's a great player and he's part of our club."
Ronaldo was part of the United team that on Saturday claimed its 11th Premier League title, and their third in a row, while next week the 24-year-old will appear in his second Champions League final when Barcelona are the opponents in Rome.
Gill believes such continuous success would make the Old Trafford club far more alluring than Real Madrid should they start making noises again this summer, as he expects them to.
"I'm sure the Spanish press will start rumours and start that whole process going again," Gill continued. "There's a (presidential) election as we know at Real Madrid and we've seen it all before with many of our players over the years since I've been with the club, and that will happen.
"But we're not prepared to use the papers in that way at Manchester United and I think we've got to be confident that Cristiano will stay.
"He's had an excellent season, he didn't score as many goals as last year but nonetheless is the top scorer in the Premier League, he is a fantastic player."

Watch out ManU... Real Madrid comes your way to take your players and what pathetically little silverware you have... You'll always be behind La Liga...
United Played the top Eight teams in the League at home in the second half of the Season,Thats is an undue advantage,in other league Barca,Bayern,Lyon go away to play the opposition almost 1 in 3 games at the second half of the season. This should not be repeated pls.Idris Nigeria
Tevez always gives 110% for United, we cant lose him
I couldnt give a monkeys uncle about tevez so long as this man stays. Stevie wonder could see this man is more important to united Than the easily replacable tevez.
Nice one ronnie!
I tell you something, if Boro inevitably drop to the championship, Man United could do far worse than sign up Tuncay as a cheapo Tevez replacement. Goal of the season in my opinion this weekend, Boro's player of the year surrounded by dross and with United quality around him...................
ronaldo might have gone when madrid were playing we'll but to be battered 6-2 by a barca side that were unable to beat chelsea outright then he's obviously had a re-think knowing that united will probably beat barca he's decided to stay with the better side. if you read much into chemistry, then the way ronaldo reacted to that question in the interview with fergie and ronaldo together then that said to me ronaldo has no intention of going to madrid until he's ready to play his last season or two. ronaldo will probably be with utd for the next three or four seasons or until fergie leaves which ever comes first
he is going to stay :) thats what we want
Blatantly want to see Ronaldo and Tevez stay at United. UnRealistic can still suck my b-a-l-l-s though, no tmatter how offensive it is to other people.
Finally someone coming out a talking straight. Well done Gilly, put the Spanish press and Real back in their place. Sad that we've come to the place where football chief executives speak more truth than newspapers and the media. Welcome to bizarro world.
Ronnie to stay, absolutely the right decision. Real would simply crush him if he were to move there, just like they have with other players eg V.Nistelrooy and Beckham. He wouldn't be able to play the same quality of football that he does with Man U and show off his true skill and potential. Now all we have to keep hold of is Champions League and Tevez!
jennetledfgg: You can too.
Unrealistic Madrid can scuk my b-a-l-ls, again.
Real madrid should chage there name to REAL @#$%
Ronaldo will make a big mistake in his whole life if he joined Real Madrid..
