Alan Shearer blasted referee Howard Webb after he disallowed a goal from Mark Viduka as Newcastle plunged back into the relegation zone.
The Magpies were trailing 1-0 to Fulham at St James' Park when the Australia international headed home a 50th-minute Danny Guthrie corner. Referee Webb ruled out the strike for a foul on goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer by Kevin Nolan, although television replays suggested Shearer's side were desperately unfortunate.
Manager Shearer and assistant Iain Dowie confronted the official as he left the pitch, and the manager said: "We are bitterly disappointed at the disallowed goal. I have seen it and I can't see anything that's wrong with it."
He added: "Probably what has happened is the goal on Monday night from Steven Taylor has been highlighted that much this week that one or two people have thought, 'We might try to clamp down on that this weekend'.
"You are allowed to put someone in front of the goalkeeper - I am not aware that you are meant to get out of the way of him.
"I thought their player was blocking him more than Kevin Nolan was, so I am disappointed with that."
Asked if he had managed to speak to Webb, Shearer said: "Not yet, but I am going to try.
"I thought he got the big decision wrong. When he looks at it, he might think that as well."

Drogba,Shearer kick in the head remember its all coming back
The past has nothing to do with the present,it was a good goal as the keeper was not blocked, the defence went to sleep and was not punished because of the ref.Every decision has to be taken on its merits and here the ref clearly made the wrong one
Instead of blaming a ref for a goal, look at the whole teams story over this year and you will plenty to complain about in your own backyard.
Allandwebster have you wondered where Nolan might of got the idea from...could it be from the master of these tactics? a certain Mr J. Terry ?.
Saying that, i believe that Mr Webb got it completely wrong and was a terrible decision but there you go
Drogba felt harshly treated when for once he fell down and it really was a penalty. Nolan has been delibarately blocking or defenders and goalkeepers for years. Don't be surprised if he gets penalised because the ref thinks he is doing what he has got away with so many times before. It might be rough justice but it is justice of a sort.
