Chief executive David Gill insists he has had no need to speak to Cristiano Ronaldo about his future at Manchester United and has reiterated the winger is not for sale.
Ronaldo's future is consistently coming under the spotlight with Real Madrid linked to a move for the Portuguese.
However, Gill insists he has not spoken to the world player of the year as he is, and will remain, a Red Devils player.
Gill told BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme: "We've never had that discussion. There's absolutely no point in having that discussion. We made it clear last year he's on a long-term contract with us and it's never come up.
"He's been fantastic both on and off the pitch throughout, he's supported us in what we want to do commercially and he's been a model professional.
"He is not for sale. He's a great player and he's part of our club."

Ronaldos name is being used as a potitical pawn for Perez to win back the Presidency of Real Madrid. Unfortunately this is backfiring slightly as it is making everyone in England and parts of Europe question why the best player in the world would leave the most successful club in current world football for a team of Galacticos which no-longer contains any Galacticos and is going backwards in world football at a dramatic rate. Should Ronaldo really want to go to Real Madrid then fair enough, he should go when he reaches 29/30 and have an adored, well-payed swansong and sell more shirts than anyone in the history of the game whilst retaining his commercial rights. This way he can leave United as a loyal legend who gave his best years to the best team of his generation.
