Redknapp unhappy with Pavlyuchenko

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has accused Roman Pavlyuchenko of disrespecting fans and his team-mates by storming down the tunnel against Manchester City.

Pavlyuchenko, who had just made a mess of a simple finish, reacted angrily to being substituted with 15 minutes to go against City, with Spurs going on to record a 2-1 win. Redknapp appeared to clap sarcastically when his striker headed straight to the dressing room.

"I don't like that," said the Spurs boss. "It's not something I like. You're looking to scrap away."

The manager added: "The fans are here and paying their money to watch and I think when a player runs down the tunnel without sitting down and watching and getting behind the team, I think that is disrespectful to his team-mates."

Pavlyuchenko's future has been in doubt after an inconsistent first season in England.

Redknapp confirmed there would be some players leaving in the summer, with David Bentley among those who could depart.

"David is going to be a player looking at it and thinking 'hang on a minute, I'm not getting in the team even when Aaron Lennon is not fit. Maybe it is time I moved on'," Redknapp said.

"As a person I like him very much, he's a good lad and a good player. I've played differently and changed the way we've played a bit. I've had results so no-one can complain."

  1. "Maybe it is time I moved on" What has Bentley done wrong? He is the only player in a long time to talk about how much he loves Tottenham and how he supports them, so you can be pretty sure he would not do a BerbaTOSS! Did anyone see the two goals he scored against arsenal in the reserves?! Yes he didn't settle in well at first but nither did Modric, give the poor guy a chance or at least send him out on loan next season! I don't think Harry knows what he is doing, ok Bentley aint no Messi but if Lennon gets injured for one or two months then you would be glad you got Bentley. Oh and i bet he sells Dos Santos as well, seeing how he has played really well for Ipswich. Chimbonda, Bent and Jenas are the players who need to go. Spurs fans give me a thumbs up if you agree. COYS ! For life

  2. I think Harry should sell Roman Pavlyuchenko, for all his talk about how good he and his agent think he is, he is always missing easy chances like bent and that header (the one Mrs Redknapp) could have scored.

    Sell Bent, Bentley, Pav.
