Millwall's Gary Alexander admits he will be happy to get the trip to Boundary Park out of the way when his side face Oldham on the opening day.The Latics' ground is famous for being battered by the weather during winter so Alexander feels Millwall will benefit from heading north in August.

"We have to play them at some stage of the season so to go up their early will be nice - as we know it's not so nice later in the season," he said.

"We had a tough trip to Doncaster on the first day of last season and got a good result there and they went on to get promotion, so there is no reason why we can't go to Oldham and get a good result."
