Bickerton eyes exciting signings

Tue 17 Jun, 05:00 PM

Shrewsbury managing director Rob Bickerton is looking to "wow" the club's fans with some exciting signings over the summer.Town finished a disappointing 18th in League Two last term but, nevertheless, season ticket sales have so far broken the 2,500 mark for the new campaign as Shrews fans anticipate a push for a play-off place.

"We are working hard now to bring in players but there is nothing we can announce yet as we need to be guarded. We don't want to alert other clubs to the players that we have been working on," Bickerton told the club's official website.

"I hope we can repay the faith that the fans who have already bought season tickets have shown in us and we can bring in some players who will make them go 'wow' and excite them.

"We want to win games but we also want to be exciting and I think the players that we've brought in so far can help us achieve that. Steven Hindmarch is a novice but anyone who knows football can see we've gone for a quality player in Paul Murray."
