Coyle still keen on move for Driver

Tue 17 Jun, 06:00 PM

Burnley manager Owen Coyle could launch a third bid for Hearts winger Andrew Driver after agreeing to sell Kyle Lafferty. The Clarets accepted a £3million offer from Rangers and will pocket a further £250,000 depending on 20-year-old Lafferty's success at Ibrox, plus 10% of any future profit if the Northern Ireland international is sold.

Coyle has already identified English youngster Driver as a player he would like to add to his squad but Hearts have been unwilling to sell at Burnley's valuation.

It could take a seven-figure offer to interest Hearts in selling 20-year-old Driver.

Coyle told the Lancashire Telegraph: "He is a player we're interested in.

"He's an out-and-out left winger, who is 20 years of age and quick. I've been an admirer of his for years."

Burnley have also been linked with Falkirk defender Darren Barr and have previously failed with a bid for Dundee midfielder Kevin McDonald.

As part of the deal taking Lafferty to Rangers, Burnley are set to take Scotland B forward Alan Gow from Ibrox to Turf Moor.
