Glennon relishing Hatters meeting

Tue 17 Jun, 01:30 PM

Huddersfield goalkeeper Matt Glennon will go head-to-head with hometown club Stockport on the opening day of the new League One season. The stopper will face newly-promoted County for the first time in his career when Jim Gannon's side visit the Galpharm Stadium on August 9.

Glennon told the club's official website: "It's a great draw from my perspective because I was born in Stockport, in fact I used to ball-boy for them when I was a kid in the days of Danny Bergara, who sadly died recently.

"I played for them as well when I went on loan to Edgeley Park when they were in the Championship and I was at Bolton, but I've never played against them, so I'm really looking forward to it."
