PSV director Jan Reker has had "a good conversation" with Heurelho Gomes, amid reports Tottenham are keen to sign the Brazilian keeper.Fans' favourite Gomes asked for a transfer shortly after PSV claimed their 21st league title last season, citing differences with Reker.

The Brazil international, who has returned to his homeland during the off-season, has been linked with a host of clubs including Premier League side Spurs.

It is reported that Spurs boss Juande Ramos has targeted Gomes as a possible replacement for Paul Robinson, who has been tipped to leave White Hart Lane this summer.

But agent Renato Gaucho refused to be drawn on what was discussed in the meeting and incoming PSV coach Huub Stevens said: "How things will go from here is still unclear to me, but that Jan Reker has had a good talk, gives me hope.

"My standpoint is clear; I do not want to lose him (Gomes). I don't think that we are without a chance. When I get the notice that Gomes wants to talk with me, I am ready to travel to him."

Reker, who Gomes claimed broke a string of promises after persuading him to sign a new contract last December, was keeping his cards close to his chest.

He said: "I only want to say that we had a good conversation, and that's all I want to say."
