North End chief bemoans Town trip

Tue 17 Jun, 12:45 PM

Preston chairman Derek Shaw admits he would rather not have been handed a trip to Ipswich on the opening day of the new Championship season. The long trek to Suffolk will see North End fans make a round-trip of over 500 miles to watch their team at Portman Road.

Shaw told the club's official website: "I'm sure a lot of the supporters will be disappointed that it is such a long journey.

"Ipswich is one of the furthest ones we have to do but at least we are not going there in the winter months."
