Sinnott: Home games are important

Tue 17 Jun, 06:30 PM

Vale Park needs to become a fortress that opposing clubs will fear coming to next season, according to Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott.Vale are among the favourites to secure an immediate return to League One, but Sinnott knows their home form will be crucial if they are to pick up the 28 victories tipped to be enough for a top-three finish.

"We want to make Vale Park a fortress and give the fans that feel-good factor. But whichever way those 28 wins are made up, the main thing is that we are successful," he told The Sentinel.

Sinnott also refused to get carried away by the bookies' predictions, saying: "Odds are there for gamblers. But our need has got to be greater, that is the bottom line.

"If the Dog and Duck's side came along, our need has got to be greater than theirs if we are to succeed.

"I'm sure we'll come across teams who will fancy playing us, but it's how we cope with it."
