Tykes stopper set for FA rap

Tue 17 Jun, 06:15 PM

Luke Steele faces a fine after ignoring a warning from the FA's disciplinary panel for wearing the wrong shirt last season. The Tykes goalkeeper has been charged with misconduct after wearing a shirt with a Surridge logo on the collar underneath his Barnsley top against Liverpool in the FA Cup. He then wore it in subsequent league games against Hull and Leicester.

Barnsley secretary Don Rowing said: "He's away, so he's not had chance to respond, but it was a logo on the neck of an under-garment.

"It's not something he's done deliberately, but their (the FA's) compliance department have got hold of it.

"He wore it in the game against Leicester after initially being seen wearing it against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

"We suspect he'll get some fine for not sticking to the rules."
