EASTBOURNE, England (AFP) - A knee injury on Tuesday threw the Wimbledon participation of Lindsay Davenport into doubt as the veteran American withdrew from the Eastbourne Championships.
The 1999 Wimbledon winner and Eastbourne champion in 2001 was to have faced Virginie Razzano of France.
Davenport, who returned to tennis last autumn after nine months away to give birth, has won four title since her comeback.
The 31-year-old Californian skipped the French Open, last playing in April in the US where she handed a walkover to Maria Sharapova in the semi-finals on American green clay at Amelia Island.
