Wigan set to meet Man Utd and Real over Valencia

Wed 17 Jun, 12:03 PM

WIGAN, England (AFP) - Wigan chairman Dave Whelan will meet Manchester United and Real Madrid representatives in the next three or four days to discuss the potential transfer of Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia.

United have made a 16 million pounds bid for Latics star Valencia, while Real are also interested, as are a third, unnamed, club.

Whelan said in the Daily Star: "United have got a meeting with us in the next three or four days, Real Madrid have got a meeting with us in the next three or four days, and the other team have asked for a meeting.

"We can't tell anybody where they're going to go and play. If Real offered two million pounds more than United, or vice-versa, it would depend on where the lad wants to go."

Whelan also insists that he will not be leaking the name of the third team chasing the 23-year-old, but has said that the club is not from England.

"All season Real have followed him big style, Manchester United followed him big style and there is another club who have just come in from Europe, who we were unaware of," he added.

"I swore I wouldn't reveal the identity of the other team because they are frightened of Real or United finding out."

  2. vallencia is one of the most talented players in the prem league, he`s no diver like ronaldo, doesn`t sulk or walk off the pitch like ronaldo and given the right team and oppertunity he will eclipse what ronaldo did, the tanning shop near old trafford must be gutted lossing out on ronaldo`s buisness, and they`d only just bought tan spray in bulk ,

  3. Hmmmmmmmm i dont think something adds up here :

    1. Kaka - 56 million

    2. Ronaldo - 80 million

They apparently want Ribery and Villa - is someone suggesting that Valencia is really in the same league as these other players - yes he's ok - he's not a galatico though - could Real's interest be to simply make Man Utd pay over the odds so they then have less of the 80 million available to them to compete with Real when its comes to Ribery and Villa!?
