Not content with adding Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka to their ranks, Real Madrid are ready to shell out another 55 million euros for France international Franck Ribery, amid signs from his club Bayern Munich a deal could be envisaged.
"Franck Ribery will play for Real Madrid and be (chairman) Florentio Perez's third big money signing of the summer," Spanish sports daily AS reported without giving any sources for its information.
But after meeting top advisors Zinedine Zidane and Jorge Valdano, Perez is ready to "battle" for Ribery's signature, AS stated, as Real bid to add another top name following the 93 million euro capture of Ronaldo from Manchester United and Kaka from AC Milan for 65 million.
According to Valdano, Real, who were overshadowed last year by Liga and Champions League winners Barcelona, "need another four or five players" if they are to overhaul their rivals and think of capturing a tenth European crown.
Valdano says Bayern are chasing "an astronomic sum" for Ribery but according to the German outfit's eminence grise Franz Beckenbauer a transfer could be envisaged "if he really wants to leave."
Beckenbauer told Sport Bild magazine: "We all agree - if he really wants to leave we will deal with that problem."
And Sport Bild headlined with the words "The Frenchman can go."
Back in June, Beckenbauer had commented that there were "two options - Ribery extends his contract to lay to rest the transfer issue or we let him go. The only problem is if Ribery wants to go. Then it will be difficult to hang on to him."
But only on Tuesday, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild daily that the club had "no intention" of selling the player, who cost 25 million euros from Marseille two years ago.

Who Cares! He is an other overrated player, Mr Beckenbauer is another opinion ridding arse, arrogant german, Bayern is like Real madrid, lots of money and poor playing, money cannot buy Championships..
los Blankos, los merengues, los galactico!!! Real my king forever
Other football fanatics can say whatever they want, i think Madrid fans are only
worried about the players (superstars) arrival.
If we get bankrupt (which can never happen) thats our problem not
theirs. They should be worried about their clubs and let us worry about madrid. MADRIDISTA!!!
real madrid are so anoying they take all the good players like ronaldo 80 million, kaka 56million what more do they want.at least manu are trying to buy ribery.there is a three way battle.chelsea, manu are trying trying to buy him.
All that money and look at the hair do he has.......hilarious! He looks like Sloth from The Goonies. Baby Ruth anyone? hahahahaha
to getachew44. Where does zaparta play? But i really think what we need is a world class centre back like Vidic, bucause i am not sure about pepe either.
Casillas
Ramos Pepe Garay Marcelo
Diarra
Rybery Kaka Ronaldo
Huntelaar Villa
REAL MADRID IS JUST ANNOYING
they steal all players with their loan mountains -.-
Raimo K you are good but you missed somethings, alonso may not come but silva will and don't worry
in diffence we have
maicon, ramos, pepe, marcelo
tores, garay, albeol and zapata
i'm 100% sure
madrid next season(09/10) will be
1 casillas
2 maicon, 3 pepe, 4 ramos, 5 zapata
6 lass.d
8 ribery, 18 kaka, 11 silva, 10 ronaldo
9 villa
sub
dudek
garay, tores, albeol, marcelo
m.diara, granearo, delared, roben, balanca, valencia
raul, higuen and negredo
who will leave
canavaro has already left
hainzi, metzelder, javi garcia, salgado, saviola, snijder, guti, vandervart, drenth, bueno, huntelar and nisterlroy all this will be leaving
i'm waiting to see my heroes negredo and granero, they are 20 years and are on loan and will come back
perez will bring all the top stars earlier now in june, but in july many will leave and the new comers will be diffence only
i'm waiting on fire to see how this madrid dominate europe for the coming 5-6 years just like years from 98 to 2002 when we take 3 CL
hey everybody be careful we are coming like tsunami without any warning
HALA MADRID
Sneijder+van der Vaart+$ is too much for Ribery + the little french kid is ugly as hell=not too many shirt money commin from him:S........and Real dont really need defenders cause we have Metzelder,Pepe,Marcelo,Torres,Ramos,Heinze,Garay maybe we do need one center back but thats it ,the defence is lead by Cassillas after all....Real always was like this average defenders above average midfield and very good attack
it would be funny if madrid get stuffed in their first league game after spending all this money . madrid should concentrate on getting top defenders and strengthen the back that is what let them down last season. they will buy all these players and come january there will be unrest due to not being able to play them for every game as the players that are being bought will expect to play every game. but good luck to madrid if you have the money why not spend it but why didnt they do this last year ?
heard they are ofering van der vaart and sjneider and money for ribery. thats a great deal. bayern have a good team as is and they have already signed 4 players.
to my last post, a left back tey should sign zhirkov if chelsea dont.
loll p, what? not even close to the real positions you muppet.
raimo, they need to sign a left back cause the wee guy dubbed the next carlos aint done it. I thought they were signing the centre back from valencia? carvalho from my team would be the player they need if stayed inury free. great reader of the game but still commanding enough. not sure bout pepe still.
this new guy wants rid of all the current players but surely he must relise he needs a quality squad and not just starting 11.
nr 6 if there's one club thats never gonna go bankrupt that's Real Madrid...they did this from 2000 'til Beckham and what happened? Real became the richest club in the world in terms of revenue..go figure:D
d a m n all this spending's gonna go to our head...ahh too late ! HALA MADRID!
Hala MADRID
To Raimo K left back Raul and centre back Lassana Diarra
at least clubs like barca and united dont have to go and buy alkl the expensive players maybe you should get a decent defender
what does it matter anyway real are going to be bancrupt in a few years no matter how much they win
How much will be his salary? Bayern is astronomicaly rich club and it is rumored that Ribery is earning about £7000000 a year.
Real Madrids line up next season
Cassillas
Ramos Pepe ? ?
Lass Alonso
Ronaldo Kaka Ribery
Villa
Not sure about the centre back and the left back. Real Madrid fans help me out here!!!!
Hala Madrid, you are the stupiest club in the world ! :PPPP
