Premier League - Gattuso considers Chelsea

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso admitted he would consider following Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea.

Gattuso is unhappy that Ancelotti has quit the San Siro and the Italy star, who has already been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, conceded his close relationship with his former boss could tempt him to the Premier League.

"I like the Premier League. The Premier League is the best league for me, for my characteristics," he said in the Daily Mirror.

"I don't know what will happen. I have been at Milan a long time and it's not easy to go away, but we'll have to see.

"Chelsea are a big, big team but working with Ancelotti is a good feeling.

"We have worked together for eight years and he is for me a second father. He is a great person, and a great manager."

Gattuso, 31, speaks English and has experience of British football, after two seasons with Rangers earlier in his career.

    ANcelotti­ needs to use the squad well before this so Lampard and­ Ballack are match fit and able to play every game in­ this period. We have cover for Drogba easy but if he­ wants to play 3 centre mids in this time(although I­ wouldnt) then he'll need someone or have to keep­ mineiro. we knoe deco will leave

    Gattuso plus essien­ would be quite good to see I have to admit plus if its­ for backup I dont mind. and as long as we sign a young­ midfielder also

  11. I guess we are not seeing the reason why Gattuso is­ being looked at. Essien and Mikel will be away in­ January for the African Nations cup and you dont want­ to be an expensive midfielder just to play when essien­ is away. He probably won't cost much and would­ easily blend with Carlotti's structure. Let's­ look at how well players handle assignments giving­ them. Bosingwa did messi's job well while Ashley­ was suspended. I just hope chelsea will start a regime­ soon that will be flooded with young players that will­ develop thru the ranks like Gattuso that has played for­ AC Milan for over 8 years. He probably won't play­ for chelsea for long but would do his job well.

  14. Look whatever you say about Gattuso, there os one thing­ to remember - HE IS A WORLD CHAMPION and there are not­ any in Chelsea's current squad is there, or in the­ Premiership. So all you English that have not got a­ clue about good players can go to sleep.

  15. sloany, not sure your right on pirlo. the guy is­ brilliant and intelligent. zidane never needed pace.­ not every player in the team needs to be fast. he is so­ clever and skillfull he can controll a game. he is too­ old though yes but you want a player like that to go­ with the fast runners
