Tony Mowbray has been confirmed as the new manager of Celtic, replacing Gordon Strachan who quit last month after missing out on the Scottish Premier League title.
The former West Brom manager will bring assistant Mark Venus and first-team coach Peter Grant, a former Celtic team-mate, with him to Parkhead and current Hoops coach Neil Lennon will also join the new management team.
Celtic have given Mowbray a 12-month rolling contract and the 45-year-old will meet the media at a press conference at Celtic Park on Wednesday morning.
Mowbray's appointment finally brings to an end weeks of speculation about who would succeed Gordon Strachan, who departed after failing to win his fourth Clydesdale Bank Premier League title in succession.
West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace reluctantly agreed to allow the Glasgow giants to speak to Mowbray on Saturday after Celtic agreed to pay £2 million in compensation for the former Parkhead defender.
After Mowbray agreed personal terms, and compensation had been agreed for Venus and Grant, Celtic announced on their official website that the deal had been completed although there were no details of his contract or of what role Lennon will fulfil.
Lennon, who was part of Strachan's coaching team, was promised a role at Parkhead for next season by Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell and there has been speculation that Lennon would take over as reserve team coach from Willie McStay.
Mowbray's first job will be to assess his squad ahead of the first of possibly two tricky Champions League qualifiers at the end of July.
Mowbray will need no introduction to Hoops midfielder Scott Brown, midfielder Gary Caldwell and striker Chris Killen, all of whom were under his charge when he was Hibernian boss.
However, Mowbray will have to address several areas in the side and has already been linked with numerous players including Baggies captain Paul Robinson, Nancy striker Marc-Antoine Fortune, Iceland international Hermann Hreidarsson and Sweden Under-21 skipper Mattias Bjarsmyr.

yes jay, monkey tennis! well it takes one to know one, what a prat !!! how do live with yourself realizing that you are such an idiot?
what have the hoops done, rangers must be laughing their socks off at this latest bloop,,i,ll give him 12 games,,
#147 unfounded @#$%, Ithink you will find the Celtic boys club you reffer to was not the official boys club, also you may find that the late great Jock Stien was infact a protestant,so it would be more likely it would be every day life for your mob. to sully the mans memory so you can spout pash is disgusting,to say the least.
HAIL HAIL!
Point 147: I think you mean "Knew" Spell this with a silent "K". Unless you are saying Big Jock was New or Celtic are a New team. However, I think it is probably just because you are a thick Hun. Other words that may confuse you include. Knackered: Barry Ferguson.. Knots: What we will tie the huns in this season... Knees: What we will go down on in Massthanking the good lord for sending Tony to bring back the championship... Notice all of these appear to begin with an "N" but actually begin with a "K" absolutely amazing....
Scottish football is just slightly better than monkey tennis, but not by much
Duncan h - Mate you can argue with yourself. I can't be bothered.
C'mon Celtic
antoniobenetatos,
Duncan h - That's my point. That's all this poster was saying that the EPL was ARGUABLY the best league.
Well antoniobenetatos
i'm arguing it's arguably not the best league in the world
are you happy now???
well done septic,MOOOBRAY's signed.you've just signed the most overrated manager in Brittish football. We might not have the money, but you've just made the best signing RANGERS could have hoped for. FAIL FAIL

#153 Celtic three in a row and champions 2010
151 antoniobenetatos,
Slagging off ??
I was just giving an opinion
Yes money makes the EPL a country mile better than the SPL
However remind me how many teams have ever won the EPL since its conception??
In my humble opinion the Spanish league is the best league in the world
for entertaining football and class players
But its just an opinion??/
And watch how many EPL players move to La Liga this year
Listening to the Albion fans on the radio here the large majority are saying GOOD RIDDANCE and some are questioning the reasoning in Celtic's plans for having this numpty in charge
I suppose it might have something to do with it being the SPL....what with the teams being inferior and all that
I'll get me coat !!
To all
Imagine first old firm game of season Gers triumph 3 nil
Can you imagine the coupons on wee Granty and Neil Lemmon
I Bet them 2 pick up more bookings next season than the gers defence
Hey Duncan h. Don't have a go at people. The EPL has a lot more monet than the SPL FACT and so can buy bigger, better players. Chelsea almost beat Barcelona if I remember in the semi-final so don't slag someone off for an opinion.
140 K Bovill
english premier league best in world?
Guess thats why a Spanish team wiped the floor with Man U with Ronaldo
Did you never watch Spanish football thE season just ended ??
Next you will be saying Engerllannnd will win the world cup
HA HA
Funny how all these english fans who don't watch our league coz its "inferior" know so much about it to form their bull sh17 opinions.
