Tony Mowbray has been confirmed as the new manager of Celtic, replacing Gordon Strachan who quit last month after missing out on the Scottish Premier League title.
The former West Brom manager will bring assistant Mark Venus and first-team coach Peter Grant, a former Celtic team-mate, with him to Parkhead and current Hoops coach Neil Lennon will also join the new management team.
Celtic have given Mowbray a 12-month rolling contract and the 45-year-old will meet the media at a press conference at Celtic Park on Wednesday morning.
Mowbray's appointment finally brings to an end weeks of speculation about who would succeed Gordon Strachan, who departed after failing to win his fourth Clydesdale Bank Premier League title in succession.
West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace reluctantly agreed to allow the Glasgow giants to speak to Mowbray on Saturday after Celtic agreed to pay £2 million in compensation for the former Parkhead defender.
After Mowbray agreed personal terms, and compensation had been agreed for Venus and Grant, Celtic announced on their official website that the deal had been completed although there were no details of his contract or of what role Lennon will fulfil.
Lennon, who was part of Strachan's coaching team, was promised a role at Parkhead for next season by Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell and there has been speculation that Lennon would take over as reserve team coach from Willie McStay.
Mowbray's first job will be to assess his squad ahead of the first of possibly two tricky Champions League qualifiers at the end of July.
Mowbray will need no introduction to Hoops midfielder Scott Brown, midfielder Gary Caldwell and striker Chris Killen, all of whom were under his charge when he was Hibernian boss.
However, Mowbray will have to address several areas in the side and has already been linked with numerous players including Baggies captain Paul Robinson, Nancy striker Marc-Antoine Fortune, Iceland international Hermann Hreidarsson and Sweden Under-21 skipper Mattias Bjarsmyr.

except wba were relegated to the championship and many would argue the spl is better than that.
I predict third place for Septic this season. Or a huge gap between them and Rangers.
To all the people slating Mowbray. The EPL is arguably the best league in the world and let's face it, playing in the SPL will be an easier task than that.
would rather be caught licking windows, than arsholes. typical scum.

I am a big fan of this guy, however if you gers fans are hell bent in slating Mowbray, pls read this......Under Smith, Everton finished in the bottom half of the table for three consecutive seasons. The Everton board finally ran out of patience with Smith and he was sacked in March 2002 after a 3–0 FA Cup Sixth Round defeat to Middlesbrough, with Everton in real danger of relegation from the Premier League. He was replaced by David Moyes, who delivered Everton to a safe finish in fifteenth place.[1]

Pt127...was it not Hansen that said"you will win nothing with a bunch of kids" to Fergie....good choice of critic there m8....mon the hoops
Fancy appointing Mowbray, what a joke! This dude took WBA straight down, Hull & Stoke survived so face facts Mowbray was to blame, trying to get his side playing silkly football when they werent up to it at Prem level. Being pigheaded and arrogant when people who know way more about footy like Alan Hansen & Mark Lawrenson pointed out the error of his judgement. Takes WBA down so gets rewarded with the Celtic job, eh??!!?
