Bayer welcome Gekas return

Wed 17 Jun, 03:24 PM

Bayer Leverkusen will welcome Theofanis Gekas back with open arms after Portsmouth decided not to make his loan move permanent.

The Greek striker failed to make the breakthrough with the Premier League club but returns to the Bundesliga where Leverkusen are set to give him a second chance.

"Somebody who has learned how to score goals does not simply forget it all," commented Leverkusen coach Jupp Heynckes.

  1. I agree, he was messed about with. Why did Hart not play him? Because he was brought in by Adams, same with the other Greek bloke. Why oh why did we keep playing Crouch up front on his own? How many goals did he score towards the end (in games we won)? None!! they were all scored by defenders or mid fielders. Keep Utaka, Keep Davies, Johnsson, Belhadj, Kaboul, Krancjar, Distin, Crouch, Hughes.
