`Giddy' Quinn raring to go

Wed 17 Jun, 03:11 PM

Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn is relishing the start of the new Premier League season after seeing the club handed a promising opening schedule.

The Black Cats open the new campaign with a trip to Bolton, and although they face Chelsea in their first home game three days later on August 18, they have a series of winnable matches during August and September.

Blackburn, Hull and promoted Wolves all visit the Stadium of Light, while there are trips to Stoke and new boys Burnley which give new manager Steve Bruce and his players a good opportunity to get points under their belts early on.

Quinn said: "The holidays are coming to an end now the fixtures are out.

"This is the time when everyone gets giddy about what's going to happen. Last year is dead and gone and it's all about bringing it on now.

"We are all very excited and with three games in eight days, the start of the season will be hectic, but we will relish it. This is what staying in the Barclays Premier League was all about and it's great to be involved."

  11. Tony K(nobhead) cameron w(anker)the pair of you sit there on your swivel faux leather Argos chairs spouting facts & figures, taking the p*** out of peoples spelling etc, you are pathetic, NUFC fans, what a laugh, the K(nobhead) doesn't even go to games, armchair, newspaper & probably The Legends listeners (what a load of @#$% that show is)thats the sort of fans you are. Don't you get it, Sunderland fans hate Newcastle fans & vice-versa, the fans on the terraces we hate each other, for years & years its gone on, long may it continue. Beating you on the football pitch is a brilliant feeling, yes of course you've had the upper hand for years, beating us quite regular which makes it even sweeter for us when we win. Even in the past on the terraces in the streets around SJP, Roker Park, SOL we've been knocked about, given as good as we get most times, brilliant adrenalin rushing stuff!! You're 'wordy' support on this site is quite witty at times (well except for K(nobhead)s "i'll have a bet on that craic!)but thats all it is WORDS!!
Now f*** off to the Championship where last seasons results put you, maybe the rivalry will return, who knows (well not K(nobhead) thats a FACT!)

  20. newcastleian1 = what a knobber! Truly deserves the name "SCUM", he's well and truly deservedit. In the summer edition of A Love Supreme, "Magbaiting", there is an article called "25 Reasons Why We Laughed When The Skunks Went Down", they missed out my number 1 reason and newcastleian1SCUM referred to it: those @#$%-pot Skunks who turned up in the Gillingham end in the 1987 relegation play-of at Roker Park. I know not all got home safelt and it serves them right. An absolute disgrace to football the lot of them and it said it all about newcastleian1SCUM. Vengence is ours though and how we are laughing now. The Toon are Doon. Ha! Ha! Get used to the Championship loser!! FTM
