Colchester midfielder Kem Izzet admits his side will face an early test of their promotion credentials on the opening day of the season.
The Us will travel to Norwich, who were relegated from the Championship last term and will be among the favourites to bounce back, when the new campaign gets under way on August 8.
"We are obviously aiming for promotion back into the Championship this season and it`s great to test ourselves against one of the so-called favourites who have come down to League One," said Izzet.
"We went up to Carrow Road during pre-season a year ago and proved we can match them, and despite it being a difficult first game I`m sure we can get a positive result up there."

Unfortunately, the small teams such as Col U, Southend and Exeter will have a real struggle to avoid the drop asd they simply cannot attract decent players.
