Southend will welcome Huddersfield to Roots Hall on August 8 as they aim to mount a promotion push.
The Shrimpers finished eighth in Coca-Cola League One last season and will hope to get their new campaign off to a flying start against the Terriers before trips to Walsall on August 15 and Wycombe on August 18.
Manager Steve Tilson will be looking forward to the visit of Leeds on September 12, with the local derbies against Colchester falling on December 26 (home) February 6 (away).
Aside from the Essex derby, the festive period is made up of an away game at Leyton Orient on December 28.
United will host Yeovil (April 3) and travel to Gillingham (April 5) over Easter before completing their season with a trip to Southampton on May 8.
