Brighton assistant boss Dean White is looking for a flying start to the League One season after the Seagulls were handed a rare home opening fixture.
Albion have been away on the first day for the past nine seasons to avoid clashing with the local Pride festival and stretching policing, but that event is a week earlier this year so they will start the new campaign with a home game against Walsall.
"We`re normally away so it`s nice to be at home for a change," said White.
"It`s so important to start a season well because you can then keep the momentum going. We`re at home so the fans can do their bit to get us off to a good start."
The Seagulls face a daunting four-week spell, beginning in November, when they face Southampton, Leeds, Norwich and Charlton.
"That`s going to be an interesting month," added White. "We`ll certainly know where we are once we come out of the back of that run."
