Barnsley manager Simon Davey reminded fans his side triumphed at Hillsborough last season as he looked forward to the opening-day clash at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Tykes will launch their 2009/10 campaign with a South Yorkshire derby on August 8 and the short trip holds no fears for Davey, whose side won 1-0 at Hillsborough in February thanks to Jamal Campbell-Ryce's first-half goal.
Davey told the club's official website: "Obviously it would have been nice to start the new season here at Oakwell with a home game, but we go straight into a massive South Yorkshire derby and one we are all really looking forward to.
"We won there last season and will be looking to start the new campaign with a victory at one of our biggest rivals again."
