New Tranmere boss John Barnes begins his tenure with a trip to Yeovil on the opening day of the League One season on August 8.

Barnes, who was appointed at Prenton Park this week following the sacking of Ronnie Moore, will hope to make a winning start before successive home games against Gillingham and MK Dons respectively on August 15 and 18.

A busy opening month is completed with a trip to fallen giants Leeds and another home showdown against newly-relegated Charlton.

Rovers travel to north-west rivals Oldham on Boxing Day before hosting Carlisle at Prenton Park two days later.

Leeds visit Merseyside on January 2 before Barnes` men end their campaign with a home clash against Millwall on May 1 and a final-day trip to Stockport the following week.
