Wimbledon - Whybourn misses out on Wimbledon
Britain's Lisa Whybourn fell short in her bid to reach Wimbledon after losing her final qualifier to Andrea Hlavackova of the Czech Republic.
Whybourn, ranked number 410 in the world, found it just too tough against a player who is ranked 273 places ahead of her in the rankings as she crashed to a 6-1 6-2 defeat.
However, there will still be six British women in the main draw at Wimbledon - Elena Baltacha and Anne Keothavong qualified directly while Katie O'Brien, Melanie South, Heather Watson and Laura Robson were given wild cards.
Number one seed in the women's qualifiers Kaia Kanepi of Estonia avoided any pitfalls as she defeated Ajla Tomljanovic 6-1 6-2.
Men's top seed Taylor Dent is also safely through to SW19 after a 4-6 7-6 (1) 7-6 (8) 6-3 victory over Australia's Matthew Ebden
