Scunthorpe United defender Cliff Byrne has pledged his future to the Iron after signing a new two-year deal with the club.The 26-year-old right-back joined the Iron from Sunderland on a permanent basis in June 2003 following a successful loan spell and has now penned a contract at Glanford Park until 2010.

His existing deal was due to expire next summer but boss Nigel Adkins has moved to keep hold of Byrne.
