Hitman is hell-Bent on promotion

Thu 17 Jul, 02:30 PM

New Birmingham striker Marcus Bent insists he "will give everything" to help the club get promoted back to the Premier League this season. The 30-year-old completed his move to St Andrews from Charlton for a fee that could be worth over £1million depending on add-ons.

Bent scored twice against Blues during a loan spell with Wigan last season but he believes they have what it takes to bounce straight back into the top flight.

"I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think they were capable of that (promotion)," Bent told the club's official website.

"No league is easy and I know it's going to be a long hard season, but hopefully we'll be strong enough and good enough to go straight back up.

"I'm going to give everything I've got and I don't think you can come up short with that. I just want to get playing and I'm raring to go now."

  1. This man is the laziest, most mercenary, useless striker in the whole of English football. Surely about 10 or so clubs by age 30 speaks for itself. Potentially talented, but could not give a sh*t when the going gets tough - which makes this article all the more ludicrous. Presumably this quote has been cut before the "if I can be bothered" bit. Birmingham - beware!
