Reading have received a boost with news that midfielder Marek Matejovsky should be fit to face Nottingham Forest on August 9.Matejovsky suffered ankle ligament damage while playing for the Czech Republic in Euro 2008 but has now returned to the club to start light training.

Physio Jon Fearn told the club's official website: "He came back to us on Monday and is progressing well.

"We're confident he'll be fit for the start of the season.

"He's only started comfortably running this week so it's a case of progression from there."
