Robins praises 'excellent' start

Sun 17 Aug, 07:00 PM

Rotherham boss Mark Robins found it hard to contain his delight after seeing his side make it three wins from three against Morecambe.Full-back Mark Lynch grabbed a spectacular brace either side of a Ryan Taylor goal to set the Millers on their way to victory, while Neil Wainwright's reply for Morecambe was a mere consolation.

Victory cut Rotherham's deficit to minus 11 points for the campaign but Robins said the job of moving away from the bottom end of the table had only just begun.

He said: "Three wins in the first week of the season is excellent and I couldn't have asked for any more effort or commitment from my lads.

"But we must guard against complacency. We have a number of tough games coming up and it is a very tough month and we will have to keep working hard and giving it everything.

"We looked confident all the way through. We passed the ball well and moved it well. You always want more but it was a really professional performance and we are another three points nearer the zero mark and put more distance between the clubs near us and behind us."
