Ipswich Town are to hold talks with Moritz Volz after Fulham accepted a bid for the full-back.
Volz has struggled for regular first-team football at Craven Cottage since Roy Hodgson was appointed manager midway through last season.
Hodgson is happy to allow the German to move on after improving his defensive options over the summer, with the fee reported to be £500,000.
Speaking after Ipswich's 3-0 win at Burnley on Saturday, Town boss Jim Magilton confirmed he is hoping to sign Volz.
"We have made an offer to Fulham for Moritz Volz and it's been accepted," Magilton told the club's official website.
The right-back has spent five years at Fulham after originally joining the club on a loan basis from Arsenal.
He has made almost 150 appearances for the club, but must now decide whether he wants to drop down to the Championship.

Underated, underplayed and underpriced. Weel done Ipswich a real bargain! will be sad to see him go, never really got the oppotunity hea deserved. Best wishes
great player, great price. but not a defender. is brilliant going forward and creating openings. Underated at Fulham.
I love Volz for his commitment in every game he plays.
Like anybody else he can have an off day now and again but it is rare.
He may not be the best full back Fulham ever had but he is versatile enough to cover in midfield where he has played well and always give support to his midfielders and forwards.
Ipswich won't be sorry but I will.
Thanks, Moritz for all your help tyo the club over the past 5 years and good luck whatever happens in the future.
