Former Coventry striker Michael Mifsud has revealed he is considering offers from several clubs as he looks for a new employer.

Free agent Mifsud scored twice in Malta's win over Georgia last week, and has reportedly rejected interest from Sheffield United as well as other Championship, League One and foreign-based clubs.

The 28-year-old, who ended last season with a loan spell at Barnsley, has also ruled out a move back to club football in his home country.

"At present, I can only say that I'm considering offers from a host of overseas clubs," Mifsud told the Times of Malta.

"I expect to resolve my future in the next few days but I want to stress that there is no truth in reports that I am close to signing for (local club) Valletta.

"My aim is to continue my professional career abroad and there has been no shortage of interest from overseas clubs.

"At this stage of my career, I have no intention of returning to Maltese football."

Mifsud enjoyed a successful spell at Coventry under Iain Dowie, scoring goals against Manchester United and Blackburn in the Carling Cup.

  7. "mifsud is rubbish and no wonder a club no one has heard of wants him"

Don't be so short-sighted, just because the club in question is not a well known english club doesn't mean they are unknown.
