Reaction from the players on completion of their final rounds at the 91st US PGA Championship at Hazeltine National in Minnesota.
Yang Yong-Eun (Champion): "I have tried to master the art of controlling my emotions throughout my career and I think it turned out quite well today. I think it's going to be a bit of a crazy party for them, especially for all my friends."
Tiger Woods (Runner-up): "I hit the ball so much better than my score would indicate. I made absolutely nothing. I had a terrible day on the greens at the wrong time. I was in control of the tournament for most the day. I did everything I needed to do except put the ball in the hole. YE played great all day. The only mistake he made all day was the one on 17. It was a fun battle."
Rory McIlroy (T3): "I didn't get off to the best start, but after that I played really really good golf. I missed a couple of chances, but I made a couple of really good up and downs at 17 and 18. I put in a really strong finish at the last Major of the year."
Lee Westwood (T3): "I'm delighted. I've come back from a slight disappointment at The Open. It's onwards and upwards and I can"t wait for April to come around."
Phil Mickelson (73): "I'll have, fortunately, a week off before we start the FedExCup. And I'll see if I can get my game turned around for Barclays. I haven't putted the best for a little while now. It's going to take a little more than overnight."

Tiger still has another ONE HUNDRED MAJORS to contend, so to dream that he wont bag another half dozen you better wake up and apologise
Cheers Bob.
Have to say I am not a Monty fan either. Know him from his days playing for Yorkshire and would agree with what you say about him. Ask my mate Ernie who played for Scotland Boys with him and told him he was a tw*t after victory in a foursomes match. Enough said. Sandy sadly screwed up and despite what any tour players say (maybe) he should have kept his mouth well and truly shut, twice.
The point you sadly miss is the use of the media by many people, like Sandy, to try and raise profile. Right i'm off to sell my story to the Sun. Night night.
PS brilliant display by Yang, Tiger's bottom lip nearly tripped him up several times on the back nine.
Disagree with you trout ..what Lyle said has the backing of quite a lot of tour professionals who believe that he Montgomerie gets away with a lot because of who he is !!!! the same goes for Tiger Woods ..who over his career has "bent" rules on a few occassions and got away with it because of who he is ..all the pro's want is a level playing field for all ( all you need to do is check timings for shots Woods takes and wonder why he has never been penalised for slow play ... )
As foe PR ,yes i think there is a bit going on there for Lyle, but what about all the cronies of the european tour coming out to save "poor Colin" talk about A*** licking of the highest order .... and before you jump down my throat ,he stays a few miles up the road from me in Dunning and yes he is an arrogant self centred individual .
Must be quite difficult for Sandy to commentate with his foot firmly planted in his mouth. Just another effort at PR by someone who said things they shouldnt have. Dont the people at Skyand other TV companies understand the public understand what they're trying to do and all we really want is good insight from people who are to communicate via the chosen medium
Sky coverage is normally quite reasonable, perhaps not as good as BBC, but who is responsible for thinking Sandy Lyle can commentate? Nice guy, yes,as a commentator a total disaster. Ruins the viewing, get him off!Linksman.
