"The market is closed," the Italian Prime Minister said at the San Siro after Milan claimed their second victory in 11 pre-season friendlies.

"Milan must find the desire to win in the great players we have."

His team kick off their Serie A campaign at Siena on Saturday while Juventus entertain Chievo Verona on Sunday.

  1. Please get a new owner we all know that he is broke. We need a right back and a atacking midfilder at least. that is what he did last year and where did we finish third. If he continues like this we will never win the scuddetto or the championsleague again.

  2. It was a pretty unentertaining game last night but credit to Milan for winning in the end. To comment 16, I agree they need a new first choice keeper but it's obvious that was never a priority for Berlusconi (who is an idiot). Like many, I don't believe Boriello will do this business for Milan, Huntelaar needs time to adapt (clearly from his performances so far) and Inzaghi isn't getting any younger. Their season hinges on getting the best out of Ronaldinho and Seedorf, retaining Nesta and Inzaghi from injury and alternating Pato and Inzaghi up front, bringing in Huntelaar in the easier games to get him started

  3. Last night Milan prouved that kaka` is expendible, so we should stop crying afetr him 'cause he ain't comming back; what we need right now is a goalkeeper, Berlusconi knows that and he should open up his bag and buy one.

I do not understand that why the Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to intervene in all cases, transfers in football????

  15. So Berlusconi is saying "We are not going to spend any of the Kaka money....because 'guess what?' we are hugely in debt due to my mismanagement!"

From Winston Bunn, on Sun 21 Jun 6:45PM
  16. I think what he's trying to say is that they REALLY wanted to hold onto Kaka, and Kaka apparently wanted to stay at Milan, but due to the situation they are in with debt, there was no way they could deline such a maddening bid.
After all, every player has a price, and since Real, even though they're vastly in debt, seem to have a bottomless pit of transfer money, meaning in fairness, they are ruining the game and transfer market for everyone.

  17. that's a bit rich, isn't it?! Surely you should have taken the 'moral highground' and accepted £20m for Kaka. All this is is publicity for a very unlikeable man who should keep quiet until he brings more talent through the youth system (apparently Milan used to have one!)

From Simon, on Sun 21 Jun 4:13PM
  18. What's the point of criticising the prices to have already accepted "a mad" price for Kaka.?
