Ruptured Achilles For Barnard

Wed 17 Oct, 01:09 PM

Wasps have confirmed that prop Pat Barnard ruptured his Achilles tendon during Wasps' match against London Irish on Sunday afternoon.

Barnard underwent surgery to repair the tendon on Tuesday, and now faces six months of rehabilitation before returning to playing action.

Wasps Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan said: "Everyone at Wasps is hugely disappointed for Pat.

"He had put in a lot of work to get to where he was playing-wise; he was just finding his full fitness and playing well when this injury happened.

"We really feel for him, having invested so much time and effort and not being able to make the most of it."
