England may have improved dramatically under Fabio Capello, but Eurosport-Yahoo! readers are not convinced the team is quite ready for glory.
Just 17 per cent of those who voted in our poll think John Terry will echo Bobby Moore by lifting the famous trophy in Johannesburg on July 11.
A further 10 per cent believe England will make it to the final, only to fall at the final hurdle and make do with a runners-up medal.
A far meatier proportion (28 per cent) think England will reach the semi-finals while 29 per cent believe the final eight will be as far as they go.
The good news is that just seven per cent expect Capello and his team to be on a plane home after the group stage, with a mere eight per cent of you identifying the second round as their limit.

Why would a german for example supporter be jelous of england?
Germany has bee in 13 major tournament finals and have one 6 trophies (always apparantly with a mediocre team!!). Their under 21 team (which apparantly is also an average team....... hammered engand 4 -1!) has just won the euros and their women are euro champs! Germany being jelous of England is like manchester united being jelous of portsmouth!
The english like to think everyone admire their international history, which to be honest sincse 1966 has been very, very poor!
wake up england. You are @#$% at sport and you live on a crappy little island full of third world people!
Let me guess, the main reason we are hesitant to vote beyond the quarter or semi-finals is because we don't want to be disappointed again after high hopes - right? Capello has achieved great things and I think it is realistic that England can reach the semi finals, but if things, for once, go England's way, they can make it into the finals. But a lot will depend on injuries and form next year, of course (as with all teams). England has a depth of players that makes one hopeful! But what Capello has achieved - and what has been a major weakness - is the right mentality in players: that mentality can bring them far, how far, we'll see... I still think the semi finals is realistic, yet beating Spain and/or Brazil is tough, yet not impossible... COMMON THREE LIONS!
thats because the vast majority of your readers are foreign English haters ! wake up and smeel the coffee!
