Turkey came from a goal down to beat Norway 2-1 on Saturday, climbing to second place in Euro 2008 qualifying Group C and boosting their bid to qualify for the finals in Austria and Switzerland.
The win, decided by a Nihat goal in the 60th minute, put the Turks on 21 points, one ahead of Norway with one match to play.
Turkey need to win their final match against Bosnia on Wednesday to ensure qualification as Norway next take on bottom-of-the group Malta.
Defender Erik Hagen put the Norwegians in the lead with a spectacular bicycle kick from close range in the 12th minute after collecting a header from Steffen Iversen.
Turkey's equaliser near the half-hour mark came from a remarkable solo effort by captain Emre. He picked up the ball in midfield and broke away from his markers to fire a 30-yard shot past 'keeper Haakon Opdal.
Kahveci got the winner 15 minutes into the second half when he outwitted a defender just outside the penalty area and fired past keeper Volkan Demirel.
Group A
Finland are still in the hunt for the Euro 2008 finals after a panicky 2-1 victory over Azerbaijan in Helsinki.
Striker Shefki Kuqi pounced from close range with five minutes left following a scramble to complete a fightback by the hosts after they trailed to Makhmud Gurbonov's 63rd-minute goal in the Group A tie.
Gurbonov chased a long pass into the Finnish penalty area and slotted home.
Striker Mikael Forssell equalised on 79 minutes when he took the ball down on his chest a few metres out and lashed it past keeper Farhad Veliyev.
Finland, who have never qualified for a major tournament, have 23 points from 13 games going into final game in Portugal on Wednesday.
Leaders Poland, who have 24 points, are at home to Belgium later on Saturday while Portugal, on 23, host Armenia.
Serbia, who have 20 points, are at home to Kazakhstan.
"That's what Shefki Kuqi does," Finland coach Roy Hodgson said of the matchwinner.
"I am delighted at the performance and very, very happy that the team still has a chance to qualify going into the final game."
The other group match between Serbia and Kazakhstan was postponed and rescheduled for Sunday because of heavy snowfall in the Serbian capital.
Referee Luis Medina Cantalejo of Spain deemed the pitch unplayable. The match has been rescheduled for Sunday.
"Weather permitting, the match will be played on Sunday," Serbian Football Association general secretary Zoran Lakovic said.
"If it has to be delayed again, November 24 is the final deadline."
Serbia need to beat Kazakhstan and group leaders Poland on Wednesday and other results to go their way in order to qualify.
Group D
Lukas Podolski scored one goal and set up two more to lead Germany, already safely qualified for Euro 2008, to a 4-0 win at home to Cyprus in their penultimate Group D match.
Germany - beaten 3-0 by Czech Republic in Munich last month but still with hopes of topping the group - took the lead in the second minute when Podolski beat three men and crossed for Clemens Fritz to head in at the far post.
Fritz set up the second with a cut-back to give stand-in captain Miroslav Klose his 36th Germany goal in the 20th minute.
Shortly after the break Podolski turned the ball home from close range to make it 3-0 - his 24th goal in 43 appearances - and the Bayern Munich man capped a fine display by setting up Thomas Hitzlsperger for a tap-in eight minutes from time.
Goalkeeper Jens Lehmann ensured he would celebrate his 50th cap with a clean sheet when he made a sharp save from Konstantinos Makridis late on.
The only remaining issue in the group is whether it is won by the Germans or Czechs, who are also through to next year's finals in Austria and Switzerland.
Germany play Wales in their final qualifier in Frankfurt on Wednesday.
Group E
Leaders Croatia slumped to a 2-0 defeat away against Macedonia, but still qualified for next year's finals.
Croatia's first loss of the campaign mattered little after third-placed Russia lost 2-1 in Israel.
On a muddy pitch in Skopje, Macedonia striker Goran Maznov fired the home side in front on 71 minutes with a shot from just inside the box that beat Stipe Pletikosa.
Eight minutes later Ilco Naumoski found himself alone in front of Pletikosa and tucked the ball home to seal victory.
Croatia, who have 26 points from 11 games, finish their campaign against England at Wembley on Wednesday.
A draw or victory for England will send them through to the finals along with Croatia.
Estonia ended their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign by beating Andorra 2-0 at the Estadi Comunal in Group E.
Striker Andres Oper put the visitors in front after 31 minutes and midfielder Joel Lindpere added a second on 61, scoring from the edge of the area after an error by Oscar Sonejee as he tried to clear.
Estonia finished second from bottom with seven points from 12 games while Andorra, who have lost all 11 qualifiers, play their final Group E match at home to Russia on Wednesday.
The visitors dominated throughout with Koldo doing well to save a long-range shot from Aleksandr Dmitrijev and midfielder Raio Piiroja heading over in the first half.
Andorra's only real chances fell to the Lima brothers, Ildefons shooting wide from distance and Toni having an effort saved by keeper Pavel Londak.
Israel v Russia and Macedonia v Croatia are ongoing - and will determine England's chances of qualifying from the group on Wednesday.
Group G
Velizar Dimitrov's early goal gave Bulgaria a 1-0 victory over Romania to hand the Group G leaders their first defeat in Euro qualifying.
Bulgaria moved on to 22 points, one point behind the Netherlands, but have only a slim chance of reaching next year's finals as the Dutch should make sure of progressing with Romania when they host Luxembourg later on Saturday.
In front of less than 10,000 spectators at Vasil Levski Stadium, the home side went in front after six minutes when Martin Petrov curled in a tempting cross from the left and Dimitrov scored with a firm header.
Romania replied in style as Banel Nicolita was put through on goal but was denied by Bulgaria goalkeeper Dimitar Ivankov 10 minutes later.
Ivankov did even better seven minutes before half-time when he saved Daniel Niculae's thunderous shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Bulgaria started positively in the second half. Romania keeper Bogdan Lobont parried a shot from 20 metres by Stilian Petrov after 59 minutes while Martin Petrov blasted just over the bar few minutes later.
Dimitar Berbatov, searching for his 39th international goal in 60 appearances, missed a golden opportunity to double Bulgaria's advantage with 10 minutes remaining after failing to covert Hristo Yovov's precise cross from the right.
Riot police were forced to intervene at half-time after Romanian fans began fighting amongst themselves.
