FORMULA 1 2007 Vettel Schumacher - 0

The seven-time world champion retired at the end of the 2006 season, but made a return to the cockpit of an F1 Ferrari at two winter tests over the last month.

And, after a brilliant performance at the RoC at Wembley, in which he finished as runner-up in the main event and guided Germany to their maiden Nations' Cup title, rumours spread that he was ready to return to competition.

But, when asked if this was the case, Schumacher issued an immediate "No" as his answer and also said he would re-buff any attempts by the DTM to tempt him into the touring car series, adding: "I can't race unless I can see my wheels."

Schumacher, 37, did however, say that he would be delighted to return to the Race of Champions in the future, as it is "a fun event."

"We come here to enjoy ourselves, to be here for a good reason, the ICM charity, and finally to race and do this as professional as we can and as good as we can.

"We can all live with this because it is not a championship, there is no pressure and that is what is good about it.

"It has been good to switch off completely with my family, but this is the first time of my retirement [when I have felt the competitive instinct] and, if I am invited back, I would love to do it again."
