Ferrari have bucked the global economic crisis squeezing Formula One by agreeing a sponsorship deal with Indian carmaker Tata.
"For the first time an Indian brand will appear on the Ferrari," president Luca di Montezemolo said.
"It's historic."
A Ferrari spokesman confirmed a deal had been reached and said the details and duration would be announced shortly.
Tata and Ferrari's parent company Fiat have a joint venture in the Indian state of Maharashtra to produce cars.
Formula One approved a package of cost-cutting measures last week to help the sport after the economic crisis led to Honda's withdrawal.

wolf
Could you post that in a recognisable language please?
Hmmmm Wolf in wolf's clothing methinks.
Fact remains that Lewis's Spa victory was "stolen" from him by the "worst stewards decision in formula 1" Nikki Lauda's words--- not mine ! Lewis would have won anyway.
Bear in mind Lauda was a Ferrari driver.

Why did glok slow down so much in the last lap..
Why was glok driving on the wet side of the track in the last few remaining bends allowing hamilton to take the inside DRY line to victory.
HHHmmmmmm.....seems a little suspicious to me...Can anyone enlighten me as to why Glok was on wet side of track in last few bends, considering he had slicks on and all

For years and years the bittons spent otehrs money to run F 1 teams ( Honda, Renault ) now is time to wor hard in the Jaguar and Land rover Factory to give money for the Ferrari Racing. In short time Jaguar will have the Maseratti faith - Ferrari busines mannagement. Subaru, like Honda, had inaff in spending money with no result. Also buy Hamilton marchandises to send money in SWITZERLAND to your super star.
Oops !
Mallya also owns an airline so he's got a few bob. The other big player in India is Reliance who also have a finger in almost every pie, maybe we'll see them taking an interest as well now as Tata and Reliance seem to compete in almost every area of business.
Maybe they'll buy out the Reliant brand, and enter their own team, is there anything in the rules that says cars have to have 4 wheels? :-)
