Scunthorpe have signed striker Ben May from Millwall for an undisclosed fee after a successful loan spell earlier in the season.The 23-year-old, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year-deal with the Iron, was summoned back to the New Den in October but suffered an ankle injury which kept him out of the reckoning until the New Year.

May indicated his desire to move to Scunthorpe, and marked his final appearance for Millwall with the first goal as the Lions beat Walsall 2-1 in an FA Cup third round replay on Tuesday night.

May joined Millwall as a trainee in 2001 and scored 19 goals in 56 games for the Lions in six-and-a-half years at the New Den.
