Internazionale coach Roberto Mancini has said Portugal midfielder Maniche may make his debut for the Serie A leaders against Parma at the San Siro on Sunday.
"He's in good shape. He carried out his first training sessions well," Mancini said. "He could be useful in the game against Parma."
Maniche joined the Italian champions on loan from Spanish side Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. Media reports said Inter had an option to buy the player for £4 million at the end of the season.
Italy striker Cristiano Lucarelli is available for Parma after his arrival from Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
Defenders Max Tonetto and Christian Panucci are suspended for second-placed Roma's home game against Catania.
The Sicilian visitors, on a high after knocking Milan out of the Cup on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals for the first time, are without suspended defender Lorenzo Stovini.
