League Two - McGhee named Bristol Rovers boss
Mark McGhee has been named the new manager of League Two strugglers Bristol Rovers.
The 54-year-old, who had spells in charge of English clubs Reading, Leicester, Wolves, Millwall and Brighton, has been out of management since leaving Aberdeen in December 2010.
McGhee, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, takes charge of a Pirates side that is currently 18th in the table.
He succeeds Paul Buckle, who was sacked following a 2-0 defeat at Barnet at the start of the month.
Chairman Nick Higgs said: "We are delighted to bring Mark to the club.
"We were very impressed with the quality of candidates for the position, but he was a cut above, he interviewed extremely well, and has a fantastic pedigree.
"Mark has a great track record, and has managed at the highest level in this country and in Scotland.
"His approach is very professional and he impressed us with his plans to take Rovers forward and get the club up where it belongs.
"We are all now looking forward to the rest of the season with Mark in charge."

I witnessed the McGhee revolution first hand at Reading,he did very well.Your lucky to have landed him
Seems a good appointment.
The most important thing is we now all get behind him and the team.
Very unfair. McGhee has a good record over more than 20 years. All managers have problems but he was good at reading, Millwall and Brighton and improved Wolves. Not at Leicester very long and noone has done at aberdeen since sir alex. Craig Brown great Scotland coach but has done no better there.
Terrible appointment!
Obviously his track record at previous clubs wasnt part of the interview process....relegation here we come...!!!!
