Bournemouth captain Adam Barrett has been ruled out for up to three months with a hamstring injury.
The centre-back picked up the knock in the early minutes of the 2-1 victory over Notts County on Saturday and the club have confirmed an MRI scan showed damage that could leave the 32-year-old out of action for a considerable length of time.
Barrett, who has had two other hamstring problems in the past three weeks, is he disappointed and frustrated by the news which comes at a time when Bournemouth are making steady progress up the npower League One ladder.
He told the Cherries` official website: "I did my hamstring again on Saturday but it was in a different spot to before. I`m really disappointed after I trained all week and got back into the team.
"I felt it in the opening couple of minutes and then a few minutes later I felt it pop. Obviously there`s a little bit of weakness and it hadn`t fully recovered.
"I`m frustrated and it could means a few weeks on the sidelines for me. I will get behind the boys now and work hard on getting fit again. It`s fantastic the team are doing well and hopefully we can carry on the way we are going."
