Chairman Milan Mandaric believes Sheffield Wednesday will use the defeat to Charlton as motivation in their bid for promotion.
Gary Megson's side went down 1-0 to the npower League One leaders, slipping to a first home loss in the league this season.
The Addicks moved eight points clear of the fourth-placed Owls with that victory, but Mandaric has backed Megson to rally the troops and keep pace with Chris Powell's side.
"I still believe in our team, the players and the management and we still have enough games to be successful this season," he told The Star.
"We have to approach every game to the best of our capabilities and keep grinding the points out.
"The players are strong mentally and, if anything, they will use it [the defeat] as motivation going forward. We have strong people and if anything they are going to try extra hard to get back on the road."

What the hell are Lindsay, and Brian on about Don Megson and co who I also watched played in a different age of football. All good players in there own right. but could they live in todays game ? ?. The boots are diffrent, the ball is diffrent, the kit, the pitch etc etc. Thats is a big question and who knows. However I digress what the hell has autograph hunting and someone who aint been to games since the 60s got to do with the team of today.
answer NOTHING ! !. They should get off there backsides and go and watch the side and they would see that this side has guts and will be there at the end of the seson. Yes there will be mistakes but it will not be for the want of trying. Ok we had a few players that did not turn up against Charlton however we had chances but did not put them away. As for not the sign of promotion Brian you have a short memory what about the game accross the town 2-0 down with 10 mins to go, 2-2 at the end side showed plenty of heart, grit and determination and signs of a side that wants to be OUT OF THIS LEAGUE. So come on you two get of the sofa leave the tv sky sports etc and come back to the fold and share the rest of the season.
Slogger the owl
i remember don megson signing my autograph book outside manchester grand hotel, gerry young and ron springett were stood behind him, ,i think the next 2 months will be big for wednesday, bristol digger
megson's men not good enough slightest bit of pressure and they go down, they tooke a point at charlton and loose at home, that is not the sign of a promotione side. I used to be a big fan of the other megson don in the 60's
