Manager Karl Robinson hopes MK Dons can take the confidence gained from FA Cup performances against QPR into their npower League One campaign.
Robinson was full of pride after the Dons' display at Loftus Road, where only a Danny Gabbidon header edged the Barclays Premier League club into the fourth round.
The Milton Keynes club came within two minutes of beating Rangers in the original tie but an 89th-minute equaliser from Heidar Helguson set up Tuesday night's replay.
Robinson hopes his players can now push on and win promotion to the Championship and said: "I didn't start the season looking to win the FA Cup, I started the season looking for promotion and that is still my goal.
"We can walk away from here with immense pride. I thought we showed an awful lot of class, our philosophy was right, our system was right and they even changed their system to match us.
"I'm gutted we conceded from a set-piece because other than Shaun Wright-Phillips' chance I thought we limited their opportunities to score. But it has been a good tie for the club, we can hold our heads high and hopefully we can take this experience into the league."
