Smith makes Stanley move

Charlton striker Michael Smith has joined Accrington on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old moved to The Valley from Darlington in the summer and has made one appearance for the first team as a late substitute in the 4-0 FA Cup win at Halifax in November.

Charlton have inserted a 24-hour recall clause in the deal which can be used after the first 28 days of the loan.

Smith could make his Accrington debut at Aldershot on Saturday.
