Vokes back with Wolves

Wales international striker Sam Vokes has returned to Wolves at the end of his two-month loan stint with Burnley.

Vokes made three starts and six further appearances from the bench for the Clarets, scoring twice in victories over Ipswich and West Ham.

Boss Eddie Howe is keen to bring Vokes back to Turf Moor before the end of the transfer window after fellow forward Martin Paterson suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday's win over Middlesbrough.

"Whenever I play, I want to try and make an impact," Vokes told Burnley's official website. "The winner at Upton Park was a good one for me and the first goal I got at Turf Moor against Ipswich.

"My job was to come in, play some games and score goals and I would like to think I've done that.

"I haven't played as many games as I would have liked, but that reflects well on the club with the competition they have got up front at the moment."
