Middlesbrough defender Rhys Williams has admitted his disappointment at the boos which greeted Saturday's defeat by Burnley.
Tony Mowbray's side lost 2-0 to the Clarets at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, but remain firmly engaged in the race for promotion back to the Barclays Premier League.
Williams told the Evening Gazette: "We have played well this season, so to be booed off after one defeat when we are fourth puts a dampener on things.
"I know it wasn't the best performance. We were sloppy and we let in two poor goals - but it's not like we go out to lose.
"Look at the league table - we sit fourth. I know we shouldn't have lost against Burnley, but every team loses games. Even Barcelona lose games.
"We have had a good solid start to the season and probably done far, far better than anyone expected in the summer. We have raised everybody's expectations with a good start, so yes, it is a bit frustrating when we get booed off."

Rhys is right. The boo boys should remember where we have come from this past twelve months and not give the likes of Williams an excuse to listen to the tempting offers which might come his way over the January transfer window
