Brightwell wants ruthless streak

Mon 18 Feb, 09:01 PM

Macclesfield boss Ian Brightwell has urged his side to be more ruthless as they seek to avoid relegation from the Football League. The Silkmen are embroiled in a grim battle against the drop after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Lincoln left them fourth bottom.

Brightwell is demanding his men show they have the stomach for the fight in the coming weeks.

"We're not ruthless enough," said Brightwell.

"We've got to demand more from each other as people, as individuals and as players and we haven't done that.

"You can tell players all week but it's up to them to have that ruthless streak in them."
